OverviewThis volume presents a study of the hieroglyphic monuments preserved in the Department of Egyptian Antiquities in the British Museum. The texts consist of royal and private inscriptions from the Ramesside period, and each one is illustrated by means of a photograph, and accompanied by a detailed line drawing. A short commentary on the history of each piece is also provided, together with identification of the persons named. The royal texts include the monuments of Horemheb from Amarna, a statue base of Sety I, a foundation deposit brick and statue base of Ramesses II, and an inscribed scarab with the name of this same king. A selection of monuments from Deir el-Medina completes the publication of the inscriptions of royal tomb builders who are represented in the British Museum. M.L. Bierbrier is the author of Volumes X and XI of ""Hieroglyphic Texts from Egyptian Stelae"". Other work by Richard Parkinson includes ""Voices from Ancient Egypt"".
