Author Information

B. Alan Wallace spent fourteen years as a Buddhist monk, ordained by H. H. the Dalai Lama, and then earned his undergraduate degree in physics and philosophy at Amherst College and his doctorate in religious studies at Stanford University. He has translated numerous Tibetan Buddhist texts and is the author of several original works, including Contemplative Science: Where Buddhism and Neuroscience Converge, and is the editor of Buddhism and Science. He is the founder and president of the Santa Barbara Institute for Consciousness Studies (sbinstitute.com), which is devoted to scientific, philosophical, and contemplative inquiry into the nature and potentials of consciousness.
