He eliminates 'guess work' with his thorough approach to fundamentals and essential team work principles. Coach Higgins explains the necessary steps which must be completed before ultimate success can be achieved. I appreciate this book's enthusiastic, thought provoking, practical application of what truly works. When it comes to player development, ""Hey, Coach, Help Me"" cuts to the chase by outlining basic crucial steps to the improvement of coaches and players alike. This book is an outstanding 'how to' guide. I fully endorse this book. Coach Higgins doesn't skip a beat. He covers absolutely everything. I only wish this book had been available to me before I retired. It would have made me a better coach!
Author Information
Coach Pat Higgins grew up on the South Side of Chicago where he played baseball and basketball at Brother Rice High School before attending Lewis University. Upon graduation, he began his lengthy teaching and coaching career at Prairie Junior High School in Alsip, Illinois. While at Prairie, Higgins also started coaching various sports at local high schools including Blue Island Eisenhower, Shepard, Stagg, Marist, and Marian Catholic. He was the head baseball coach at Shepard, Stagg, Marist, Marian Catholic, and Shepard, and finished the last eleven years of his career coaching Varsity Baseball (head coach) and Football (assistant) at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences. During his career, Coach Higgins shared many banners and trophies and won 519 games. He was the president of the South Inter-Conference Coaches Association (SICA) and was recently inducted into the Lewis University Academy of Coaches Hall of Fame.
