Hey Beginner Wife

Overview

We are all patient with beginners, extending compassionate grace to anyone learning a new skill. But what about the woman just beginning her marriage journey? What about the woman, ten years in, who still wishes she had a marriage manual to help make sense of challenges she never anticipated? Discover a fresh marriage manual that offers practical wisdom illustrated through the author's personal stories and experiences over the course of her four decade marriage. Each chapter is uniquely devoted to one of the critical characteristics the author deems essential to a happy marriage. Whether 12 weeks or 12 years in, this book extends understanding and hope to those still learning the ins and outs of marriage: those whom the author calls-beginner wives. From the Introduction: ""I'll let you in on a little secret: Other women don't have perfect husbands; they've simply learned how to enjoy the husbands they have! So whether you're married and feeling stuck, hope to tie the knot and want to get off on the right foot, or are just looking for some supplemental guidance to maintain the solid foundation you and your spouse have created, this book will give you the practical tools and mindset to make your marriage happy, healthy, empowering, and eternal. In this book I share what worked for me, where I missed the mark (so you don't have to), and how establishing and sharing a core set of values with my husband not only influenced my early years of becoming a wife, but also how I balanced that role with being a mother of six children. I've devoted each chapter to the critical characteristics that I've found to be essential to a happy marriage. And the best part is that each of these characteristics is available to you if you're willing to do the work. Many women find love, and most make it to the altar. But then what? Saying ""I do"" is far from guaranteeing a lifetime of happiness. We repeatedly hear that marriage requires work, thoughtfulness, flexibility, evolution, and above all, a commitment. But how to navigate life's inevitable (and current) challenges with grace, respect, strength, and love is something most of us were not shown how to do. So if you're a woman who wants to prepare for a marriage she doesn't have yet, and then carry the honeymoon phase through to the very end, this book is for you. If you're a woman looking to thrive in your marriage, and gain the tools to consistently support and elevate each other through all of life's seasons, this book is for you. If you're a woman who wants to be intentional about actually enjoying - not resenting - your husband and your marriage, then this book is for you. Welcome!""

Reviews

""My boyfriend and I are preparing for marriage and your advice is invaluable to me. My parent's marriage taught me a lot about what NOT to do. I'm working on rewiring my understanding and you have helped me understand the WHY of everything. Thank you!"" Emily H., Boston, MA ""Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your work. Your words bring tears to my eyes. I finally feel like I'm not going crazy and I can stop demanding we see a marriage counselor. I've always known he was a good man but your teaching has helped me see him in a new way."" Beckie L., Houston, TX I have no idea how to be a wife. I've been strongly independent because I had to be. Now here I am, one month into marriage, and I realize that I have no clue what I'm doing. I'm so grateful I found Hey Beginner Wife! Thank you for teaching us how to treat our husbands. Jessie M., Tujunga, CA To be honest, I was a bit surprised at how lousy of a wife I was--all these marriage principles seemed so easy and obvious when I was single! It's crazy how all that went right out the window when I got married. This book is perfect for helping me grow and improve to become the blessing to my husband that I know I can be! Sarah M, Cincinnati, OH ""I already know you're going to save the marriage that I don't have yet. This is like pre-marital counseling for singles. Thank you for this!"" Nicole N., Newport Beach, CA Not currently in my engaged season (although if you are, please buy this book immediately), but in my new mom era (which surely brings new habits and changes). This book is after every woman's heart. How do I be the best wife I can while honoring my own position in my marriage? How do I show him respect while also giving myself grace? Truly revolutionary if you were raised seeing a broken marriage and want to end the cycle. Thanks Michelle for being the mentor who doesn't have a clue who I am but is giving me the words I need to hear."" Olivia H. ""I don't know many happily married folks and certainly don't have a mentor whose marriage is worth trying to emulate. I find your content extremely valuable. Thank you for helping me navigate my marriage in a way I didn't know was possible."" Sierra T., Oronogo, MO ""Thank you so much for the wisdom you share in these pages. I appreciate the nuggets of kind, thoughtful, and simple principles that you share. It doesn't feel like you're quarreling with us, but gently guiding us to the truth!"" Tugi W., Nairobi, Kenya ""Love, love, love learning from an older woman! As a young woman who wants a lifelong marriage and a strong family, there is no better person for me to learn from than someone who has already done it!"" Carina J., Lisbon, Portugal
