Hethitische Texte in Transkription Kbo 59

Overview

English summary: In KBo 59 (2010), Theo van den Hout presents 254 textual fragments in total from the area of the Great Temple. The content of these texts are religious in a broad sense, including such contents as incantations, ceremonial rituals, and oracular texts. A particular emphasis is placed on texts 171-177, which represent an essential complement for the text-group of the Palaic deity Ziparwa. In this book, the materials are made available with annotations regarding textual connections and duplicated information corresponding to the current state of research in transcription. On the basis of these connections, the texts are able to be consistently collated into photographic tables, which help to fundamentally improve and further consolidate the textual corpus. The book concludes with thorough indices of names, the related and duplicate or parallel texts, as well as a contrasting index of CTH numbers.
