Overview""Freedom isn't just the space to move - it's having something worth staying for."" The compass points East. The rumors promise safety. However, blood and sand pave the road ahead. For Hero, a teenager navigating the ruins of a collapsed civilization, there is no turning back. His parents are gone, his home is dust, and his only hope lies in a mythical sanctuary called Eden. His companion? Falcon. Not a person, but a machine: a solar-powered electric car built to survive the unforgiving wasteland. Together, boy and vehicle must cross a continent crawling with scavengers, warlords, and hunger. But as Hero pushes Falcon to the limit, he discovers that the biggest threat isn't the gangs chasing him. It's the truth about Eden itself. My name is Wolter Martin Busscher. By day, I am a secondary school teacher, and in my free time, I am a passionate basketball fan, illustrator and - above all - a dedicated family man. My favorite moments are spent out and about, seeking new adventures with my family. Why Hero? In the Netherlands, my students, especially the boys, had a hard time finding books at school that they found appealing. So, in 2016, I decided to write one myself. I wrote a story I thought they would find cool, and to my surprise, they loved it. After uploading the early draft to Wattpad and receiving a wave of positive feedback, I realized this story was bigger than I thought. Over the years, that 180-page draft grew into a 1,500-page saga. Hero - Journey to the East is the first part of that adventure (approx. 450 pages). Influenced by the pop culture giants I love - like Star Wars, Mad Max, and Ready Player One, Back to the Future and ET - my aim is to entertain and make you feel the story. When the characters were trekking through a desert, I wanted you to feel the heat and the slow passage of time; when the action hits, I wanted your heart to race. I hope you enjoyed the ride.
