Every hero, every person, goes through a process of discovering their own identity. Our perception of ourselves, of how we treat others, and our dreams can be heavily influenced by society. This can cause self doubt in our own capabilities. Timmy's journey to believe in himself and see the true nature of heroism was inspired by the Angelo's own journey of overcoming adversity. Timmy's story is also a testimony to the resiliency of the everyday citizens Angelo has served as a police officer. Hero Inside strives to motivate readers, especially youth, to believe in themselves and see that helping others is at the core of what it means to be a hero.
