Author Information

Maggie Hutchings is a children's book writer and artist, based in Australia. She is the bestselling author of Unicorn!, Mermaid!, and Dragon!. Your Birthday was the Best (illustrated by Felicita Sala) earned acclaim as a CBCA Honour Book, a White Raven Book, and was a finalist for the Russell Humor Prize. Hutchings, formerly a family counselor, now writes from her home on the Northern New South Wales coast. Sarah Zweck is an artist--illustrator who lives in Melbourne, Australia. Play is at the forefront of her work, and she creates expressive characters who evoke humor and heart. Zweck enjoys working with mixed--media, using materials that allow her to experiment with mark--making, color, and texture. Originally from the UK, she graduated from Leeds with a bachelor's degree in fashion design and worked as a childrenswear designer in London before embarking on her career in illustration.
