Author Information

Officially, Richard Heddington grew up in the South West of England, but those who know him will tell you that he is unlikely to ever grow up. He drew his first Henry the Hedgegnome cartoon while at school in the mid-seventies, and Hedgegnomes soon appeared in the school magazine. The character was an instant success, but when the time came for Richard Heddington to get a proper job, Henry the Hedgegnome was retired to the attic. After four decades of hibernation (a good nap by anyone's standards) Henry the Hedgegnome is again making children laugh. The first Henry the Hedgegnome book was published in 2016. The rest is to become history. Officially, Richard Heddington grew up in the South West of England, but those who know him will tell you that he is unlikely to ever grow up.
