His books include The Fall of Rorke's Drift: An Alternative History of the Anglo-Zulu War, Kingdom in Crisis, The Land Wars and The Zulu Kingdom and the Boer Invasion. Ian Knight is one of the foremost experts in Zulu military history and the British campaigns of the nineteenth century.
