After marrying into a bilingual family, she began to learn Spanish and found that writing short stories in the new language was a great way to practice her skills. As a former English teacher, she combined her love for education, literature, and language to design a book with characters that represent children in the English-Spanish speaking community. Not only will children be able to relate to Henry, the book is a teaching tool that reinforces vocabulary in a non-traditional, immersive way. Henry Goes to the Zoo con Su Abuelo is Sarah's first book to publish and illustrate. The book features dialogue back and forth from English to Spanish, in the same way a bilingual child would naturally experience language in a day with their family. Sarah earned her Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education from Western Michigan University, and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Regent University. She plans to create a series of bilingual books for language learning. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
