This book is written primarily for persons involved in the broad spectrum of the helping professions. An eclectic approach toward helping is discussed, and the material is enhanced by the author's deep knowledge following forty five years of experience as a practitioner and trainer. The book contains the core elements of the helping skills repertoire, and is presented in order to guide the reader step by step through that repertoire. It contains an extensive range of exercises to assist the reader with their own search for increased insight and can also be used as handouts for students and clients.
