Reviews

My teen wanted to date an older boy. It really scared me. This Guide was a life saver. It helped me to calmly explain to her why that was not wise. She heard me, thank you. --Jackie P I felt really guilty for not having talked about the birds and the bees when my teen was younger. I've been having sleepiness nights about what to say, because I knew I needed to talk to him. The safety practices in this Guide were just the tools I needed....The biggest take-away for me is that I need function as my child's parent, not his friend. That can come later. One of the best parts of reading Dr. Gelb's Life Guide is that it is so simply expressed, so user-friendly, so down-to-earth. I was able to grasp every word... and every word gave me hope. --Cassie N I always felt weird about the idea of supervising my teen's dates. But I knew it was necessary. This Guide gave me the strength to follow my gut and do what I need to do to be the best parent I can be. It also helped me feel more comfortable teaching my daughter about the power of No. Before reading this Guide I myself had a lot of resistance to saying No. So how could I expect my child to say it? Thanks to this Guide I've made peace with saying No and in doing so, my child has a powerful tool to keep her safe in what could be a very dangerous world for a teen. --Paul L Your guidebooks are gems. --Alexandra Franzen
