Overview

The heart behind any revitalization effort is to see the church reach the community and new people with the gospel. It should not be about membership, tithing, or even more people in the pews. Those will come if the church is willing to prepare for guests for the greater good of the community. There is no silver bullet in winning and keeping new guests, but may you find strategies in this resource that will make you think about what more you could do to prepare, retain, and invite guests into the local church.

"""Today's church leaders have faced more unique obstacles than church leaders have in more than a generation; this can be overwhelming. Barrett encourages his readers not to waste time wishing things were different, but with clarity and practicality, to trust God for a better future. Healthy church leadership is rooted in personal relationships moving forward together as they grow deeper in their walk with Jesus Christ. Barrett reflects this on every page, encouraging church leaders to prepare and keep guests as a tool to rebound from decline."" --J. Matthew Shamblin, senior pastor, Rose Hill Baptist Church ""Helping the Small Church Win Guests helps the average size church look in the mirror to see how things are and helps them reimagine areas within the church that might need to be changed. Every leader in the church should read this book and ask God what changes need to be made in the local church to thrive in the future!"" --David Ludwig, associate director of church health and discipleship, Baptist Resource Network ""Today's church leaders have faced more unique obstacles than church leaders have in more than a generation; this can be overwhelming.
