This book is dedicated to all the children who have been thrown into the midst of a pandemic, in hopes of finding something positive and upbeat in every situation, pulling ourselves up and dusting ourselves off to see how to make our lives better, even though the circumstances aren't the best. This book is also to remind ourselves to be grateful for what we have. Thank you teachers, doctors, firemen, veterans, parents, patriots, and all service communities that think outside the box on how to best serve the people in a positive, effective way.

After surviving two house fires as a young child and a mountain fire coming towards our house as an adult, I have learned that in moments of instant evacuation you make a choice about what is most important. You usually have only minutes to decide what to take with you. In those fervent moments it's not about fear, it's about instinct. When you could possibly lose everything, you can also gain something you wouldn't normally have gained. Who do you call? What is so important you would protect it on your way out? And in the end, if we had it to do again, what would we do differently? At the end of the day, there is always something good in a bad situation, and we can only see it if we're looking for it. It may be faith in God; it may be that animals have great instincts to warn people and each other that there is danger; it may be that the neighbor you thought you didn't like is in fact watching out for you. Whatever happens, know that tissue doesn't feed you, it doesn't clothe you, and it's really big and bulky when you carry it. The answers are within you. Heaven Bless. #protectourchildren
