It is a book about anxiety, but it is more than that: through Natalie's experiences and insights, we understand better how this concept of anxiety creeps into all aspects of our lives-when facing a medical challenge, in our marriages, friendships, and all the spaces in between. Everyone knows something about anxiety-yet so many still struggle and are baffled by it-why is this? Natalie, who I am lucky to call a professional peer and dear friend, covers the concept of anxiety in a totally accessible way and provides insights from both personal and professional perspectives. It is what I would call elegantly simple-which is a true compliment in this day of flashy results and overzealous promises to find a quick fix. ""Bravo, Natalie, for cutting through it all and sharing your wisdom! ""Don't miss this book!"" -Patricia Mowry-Cavanaugh, LPC, PhD Senior Vice President of Clinical Services at Health Connect America ""Natalie Kohlhaas, a seasoned therapist whose own prior trauma, fear, and feelings of anxiety informs her expertise and care for clients. She provides a book that could not come at a more traumatic, fearful, and anxiety-ridden time in most of our lives and at a time that her expertise is needed more by the most of us. I am certain that the stories that Natalie tells will resonate with you, and her wisdom will set you on a course to health and well-being."" -Eve Heemann Byrd, MPH, DNP, FNP-BC, PMH CNS Director, The Carter Center Mental Health Program ""Anxiety is the condition of the modern age, and Natalie Kohlhaas is the master clinical therapist who can best help all of us in understanding it, managing it, and even appreciating some of its paradoxical virtues. She writes with humor, wisdom, and empathy that comes from her own episodes of personal trauma. Anxious humans-which is to say all of us-will benefit immensely from the insight and advice that Natalie Kohlhaas offers."" -Geoffrey Kabaservice, BA, MPhil, PhD New York Times Author Director of political studies at the Niskanen Center in Washington, DC """This is not a book about cancer, but it is.
