AUTHOR'S BACKGROUND - (A BRIEF RESUME) 1940 born Kendal Westmorland (now Cumbria). Raised and lived in Windermere. Attended Windermere Grammar School 1951-1957. Employed by the Borough Treasurer's Department, The Town Hall, Kendal in 1957. 1960 - Joined the Kendal branch of a national industrial banker. 1965 - Moved to Lancashire following promotion to Area Manager, later becoming a self-employed financial consultant. 1985 - Returned home to avoid the impending rat race forming a taxi company specialising in scenic tours for the discerning international tourist. 2006 - Septimus retired.
