Author Information

Helen grew up on a farm in Ohio and as a young child, she helped her Amish grandmother and talented mother work in the kitchen. Here she developed her cooking and baking skills that soon became her lifelong passion, along with sewing and gardening. Now widowed and in her mid-eighties, Helen is the mother of five, grandmother of eleven, and great-grandmother of seventeen. As a Senior Chemist, Senior Research Associate and Director of Research and Development, JoAnn has authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles on industrial cleaning and published in professional journals. She also authored text books, book chapters and ""Modern Industrial Cleaning."" She formulated the Daraclean and Daracool product lines for W.R Grace and Metalnox and Optisolve products for Kyzen Corp. In 1998 JoAnn was invited to address the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland on the feasibility of replacing CFC's with environmentally safe products. She lectured at conferences and Universities across the United States on this subject. JoAnn is recently widowed and has one daughter, one granddaughter and an adopted Basset Hound, Bella.
