Heavens Muse is a fantastical exploration of the fine art nude. The eponymous Muse, Marina, features as the star character and central inspiration of her project: Marina is an inspirational model to work with -- a perfectly sculpted fantasy heroine that comes to life in front of the camera! Her pose, character and essence feed the imagination. The diverse combination of mixed media from digital and analogue to paint and collage creates a layered depth to her work. She uses her camera to capture the expressive essence of her subject followed by the transmogrified digital abstraction she refers to as the 'layering of realities'. This is where the model is suspended in time and a story begins to take place. A collage of nature, landscape, architecture and other earthly objects are placed forming a mandala around the figure. The process is completed by the intricate dance of her brush over the printed canvas, forming molecular patterns, dots and expressive line work acting almost as a guide for the eye to move freely throughout the image.

Pashet was born to prolific artists Paul Schmidt and Margery Bradfield in East London, South Africa, in 1975. Surrounded by this constant creative presence at home lead to art becoming her passion in life and later her calling. She studied fine art and design at JHB School of Art, Ballet, Drama and Music followed by commercial digital design work for advertising; however she still considers her parents to be her mentors from early years of dedicated training, giving her the tools, the freedom and the inspiration to explore the world of imagination and creativity. Her work has quickly become highly sought after from collaborations with other artists and commissioned pieces that decorate houses and offices of many private collectors to large scale print and murals for commercial public spaces. Now based in London, England, she specialises in Photography, Digital Art, Collage, Painting and clothes design. She draws great inspiration from her femininity and names the Female Nude, portraiture, the natural world and the transcendence of life itself as her favourite subjects.
