OverviewCurrent studies, such as the HBSC study 2021/22, point to a deterioration in the health situation and health behavior of young people and highlight the increasing need for health promotion in schools. The relevance of the topic is also underlined by international education studies such as PISA and Goals 3 and 4 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.Against this background, the objectives and measures of the ""grow@ HLW Steyr"" project are scientifically justified. Factors influencing the health and well-being of young people at school are analyzed, with a particular focus on mental health. The project, designed as part of school development, is based on the action research approach and aims to promote well-being and strengthen the health of pupils. In addition, it examines how individual measures of the project affect well-being at school. The article presents initial results on the didactic elements ""Happy Start Week"" and ""Drum Workshop"" in the first classes.
