OverviewWhy are Black women so angry? What's their problem? They are so loud, masculine, and unattractive! They need to get it together! The fact that it is 2023 and these questions and stereotypes are still plaguing Black women is as infuriating as it is upsetting. It seems that the more Black women do, the more they are criticized. There is no winning. The game is rigged and has been since the beginning so more Black women are opting out of playing and instead are choosing healing. So I ask, are Black Women Angry? Am I angry? The answer is that we have every right to be and many are. HOWEVER, are we just angry? And the answer to that is no. For many, what lies beneath the anger is an overwhelming sadness, a sadness caused by trauma, disguised as strength, and built off chronic disappointment leading to hyper independence and high functioning depression. This realization was the catalyst for my research into the Black woman's history of sexual trauma and led to the development of the guide A Power Exchange with Your Pain . In this book, I take you on a journey of research and lay out the evidence for why Black women not only need but deserve resources specifically created for them.
