Overview

This atlas and text offers step-by-step guidance to every surgical procedure in head and neck surgery. In this edition, new chapters are included on genetics of head and neck cancer, rehabilitation after surgery, implants and prostheses and orbital tumours, and there are chapters reviewing other treatment options in the field (radiation therapy and medical oncology) as they relate to the overall management and outcome of the patient. Further expanded chapters cover reconstruction after ablation and surgery of the larynx and trachea, and all new surgical techniques are included. Each chapter features short sections on complications and or procedure, and outcome data from Dr Shah's department at MSKCC is detailed throughout.

Author Information

Jatin Shah is one of the world's leading head and neck surgeons. He is head of the head and neck service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NewYork and has an international reputation as one of the leading surgeons in the world in head and neck oncology. He has contributed chapters to most of our head and neck / oral and maxillofacial surgery texts, and has just finishedco-editing a small multidisciplinary text on head and neck cancer managementfor B C Decker. He has written the first two editions of this Atlas and Textsingle-handedly, but for the 3rd edition will be joined by a few colleagues from MSKCC who will contribute sections or short chapters.
