How Are You = HAY We all ask each other, ""How are you?"" But how often do we respond honestly? Everyone carries around their invisible haystack. Sometimes it has a small this or that. Sometimes it has some medium this or that. Sometimes it has lots of large this or that. And sometimes it has an enormous amount of this or that! We never know how big of an invisible haystack someone is carrying. By checking in with this simple question and being willing to listen, we can extend kindness to others. You never know when a HAY is all they need!

Gail Boe grew up in Minneota, Minnesota. She currently lives in New Ulm, Minnesota, with her husband and their two children. Gail presently works in the library at Jefferson Elementary. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, making and eating popcorn, and all things Christmas! Gail's inspiration for HAY came from asking the simple question, ""How are you?"" She realized we don't always know what others have in their ""haystacks,"" so it's important to keep extending a genuine ""How are you?"" and listen. HAY is Gail's second children's book. Her first book, Lettuce, was published in 2021.
