Overview

Have You Ever Seen an Elephant Fly by? opens up the world of imagination to the young reader. No matter where one finds themselves - in a field, on a picnic blanket, on the beach, or floating in a pool, they can look up and become enthralled by the shapes of clouds. Sitting with friends and family, they can share their fun, imaginative interpretations while playing a game of iSpy. At the same time, one can spot in the sky, jets leaving behind a Jetstream, birds flying in formation, and kites lifting and falling. Closer in, one can see dragonflies, bees, and butterflies. There is an infinite number of cloud shapes and formations ever-changing with the winds.

B.T. Scherer grew up in south Florida spending much of her childhood outside on the beach or in the ocean. Many fun creatures were part of her everyday life: crabs, seagulls, pelicans, turtles, bunnies, and squirrels. Today she lives with her family In Berkeley, CA where nature continues to be her passion. When looking up at the clouds in the sky, she can easily imagine many of her favorite animals floating by. Her children's books which include Squirlie and Maude, Skeeter the Ski Bunny, Snuggle In, and Myrtle the Sea Turtle are about the animals she came to know and love in her childhood.
