Overview

Haunted Island is a paranormal romance novel, a love story between a young male college student named Darren Trachtenberg and the ghost of a young woman named Annie Pearson who drowned in 1874. It is inspired by the real-life tragedy of Emma Pruitt, who lost her life in a storm at Assateague Island in December 1874.

Born in Detroit, Martin Berman-Gorvine grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs. He attended the University of Chicago, where he received a B.A. in English Language and Literature. He later received a master's degree in teaching from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He lived in Israel for several years, and currently resides in Maryland with his family.
