Vec tri dana Mara ne moze ni oka da sklopi jer nesto tiho suska čim se ugasi svetlo. Iako je mama ubedjuje da u sobi nema nikoga, Mara je ubedjena u sasvim suprotno. Ali ko god da se tu nalazio, on je pravi majstor u prikrivanju. Trecu noc čim su svi zaspali, čuje se priguseno smrcanje i kijanje iz Marinog ormara. Kakvo li se samo tamo čudoviste krije? Ali strahoviti strah ne oseca samo Mara vec i maleno krzneno čudoviste po imenu Hatchi. Ipak od njega se Mara ne mora plasiti jer čudoviste je doslo samo iz jednog razloga, da utoli svoju glad. Ali to nije glad kakvu mi poznajemo jer se to čudoviste hrani isključivo sa zoknama.
