OverviewAlthough the book ""Hasya Pravas"" (A Journey of Laughter) describes my trip to Thailand, it is a blend of fiction and reality. Some characters are fictional, while others are real, though their names have been changed. This story features the azure beaches of Malvan, its red soil, and a character who is as unique as the wild fruits grown in that soil. My mother, Mrs. Manisha Pravin Sonawadekar, helped me accurately write the Malvani dialogues of this character. The book also includes the famous Kolhapuri cuisine (Tambada-Pandhara) and a strong, masculine wrestler deeply connected to the soil of Kolhapur. This book was written with the hope that while reading it, readers would forget the stresses of life and a fountain of laughter would erupt on their faces, hence the title 'Hasya Pravas'. The story features fifteen main characters, and their amusing antics during the trip to Thailand will surely bring a smile to your face. Along with the story, 'Hasya Pravas' is my attempt to incorporate humorous anecdotes, experiences from my various travels, glimpses of other cultures, and the beauty of different places. Many travelogues have been written in Marathi literature, and many of them have been very successful; but I had a strong desire to write something different. I wanted to showcase my Maharashtra during my travels abroad.
