Overview

This report summarizes the activities of the second year of a three-year project to develop control software for microsource distributed generation systems. In this phase, a laboratory-scale microgrid was expanded to include: 1) Two emulated distributed resources; 2) Static switchgear to allow rapid disconnection and reconnection; 3) Electronic synchronizing circuitry to enable transient-free grid interconnection; 4) Control software for dynamically varying the frequency and voltage controller structures; and 5) Power measurement instrumentation for capturing transient waveforms at the interconnect during switching events. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
