Author Information

DAWN CASEY draws inspiration from her travels near and far, from tales of old, and from the natural world. She has a particular specialism in the retelling of folktales. Her collection The Barefoot Book of Earth Tales won a Golden Nautilus Award and received an accolade from the American Folklore Society. In previous incarnations, Dawn worked in publishing and as a primary school teacher. Now she retells folktales and writes original stories and picturebook texts for a range of educational and trade publishers. She lives in Sussex, England. Domenique Serfontein is an illustrator based in the beautiful Wicklow Mountains, Ireland. She is deeply inspired by nature, the feeling of nostalgia, earthlike colours and the magic of stories. Her work is rooted in ethereal, atmospheric and whimsical scenes that encourage viewers to explore these worlds and fuel their imaginations.
