Happy Hands Cursive Writing Practice, ages 8-11 is written by a teacher currently working in the school system. Cursive writing is not taught in school in many states across the country. Yet, a child will have to know how to write in cursive to sign his or her name on legal documents. Our book starts with the basics, teaching a child capitalized and lower case letters. Then it moves into learning how to blend the letters together by having them trace simple Dolch words; and, can, for, jump, etc. The last page is for the parent to help their child learn to spell their name. Mary Drewry currently teaches in the United States school system. She saw a need for students to learn to write in cursive since many schools have taken that skill out of the classroom. In designing the book, she made it meet school curriculum. She holds a teaching certificate in General Education K-6 and Special Education K-12. She specializes in reading and writing. Patricia Azeltine has written many books in fiction and nonfiction. When her children went through the school system, she saw the need for kids to learn how to write in cursive.
