OverviewThis thesis focuses on the concept of learning happiness, particularly within an educational context. Here, 'happiness' is understood in terms of well-being, joy and contentment. Happiness-which can, to a certain extent, be learned through appropriate perspectives, ways of thinking, methods and the right attitude to life-is the goal of every individual. School is the ideal place to impart this knowledge. However, as studies show that for most pupils school is comparable to a frightening visit to the dentist, a change in the education system is necessary to counteract this negative perception. Being happy would be an asset to society as a whole, as it has a positive impact on health, the community and general well-being. This thesis aims to contribute to increasing happiness in society, with a focus on setting the course for this as early as school.
