Julie Hooks is an award-winning author and proud Louisiana native. She attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she majored in Child and Family Studies. Her debut picture book, Hannah Bear and LuLu's Festival to Remember, was honored with the Family Choice Award and was selected as one of the books featured on Louisiana First Lady Sharon Landry's official summer reading list. Julie's work has also been featured in several family-focused magazines. She lives in Louisiana with her husband, Kelly, and is the proud mother of two daughters, Hannah and Haleigh, who continue to inspire her storytelling. A passionate advocate for children's literacy, she loves connecting with young readers and families through school visits, storytimes, and events.
