Reviews

... pleasure to read ... useful and as good as most sifrei mussar in actually helping young and not so young mothers make positive changes both in their inner and outer lives as they discover a relaxed, hashkafically sound and PRACTICAL approach to their role in one easy read. I recommend this ... perfect gift ... -- Rebbetzin Tziporah Heller It's a great book; combination of what every Jewish mother needs to navigate her life. It has something for everyone; even unique recipes! I enjoy reading it again and again. Rebbetzin Tova Juravel-Storytyme Tapes * It is a pleasure to read Mrs. Younger's book, the product of many successful years in the school of motherhood. She shares her tips, her positivity and her strength as a Jewish mother connected to her Father in Heaven. I highly recommend this book. -- Rebbetzin Malka Kaganoff-Author, Lecturer We readers are the fortunate beneficiaries of Tova Younger's many talents. Her decades of creative homemaking and childrearing, her expertise in investigating and garnering tips and techniques to enhance the home and her literary skills - brought together in a fascinating, informative and useful guidebook. From tips for pink eye to better knaidlach. From economical vacation ideas to the secret of making Amazing Croutons. From dieting, sleep aids or multiple practical use for razor blades; it's all there and much more. Refreshingly imaginative and innovative, yet sensible and workable, enjoy your first read and then keep this book handy for valuable reference. -- Rebbetzin Yehudis Samet-Author, Lecturer This is an incredible handbook that includes both the hashkafa as well as practical tips to run a Jewish Household. Both the novice as well as the experienced will be able to turn over and over again to this book to get chizuk and practical ideas to make the running of the household a smoother process. This book has something for everyone and will make a perfect gift. -- Rebbetzin Shira Smiles-Author, Lecturer An alternate title for this great book might be, How to Become a Tzaddekess within Your Comfort Zone. It's a 'positive thinking' book, but much more, and very palatable as you go along. I wouldn't have expected any less, having been exposed to Tova Younger's fresh, uplifting, original and very happy style as editor of the defunct Yated Ne'eman International Edition. Here, too, she guides the reader in self improvement in so many areas: Meaningful davening through very practical tips that are easy to incorporate in your daily rapport with HaShem; efficiency tips in so many areas, like doing chessed for others and not losing out. This book cannot be read in one sitting and certainly not because it is boring or sermonizing. On the contrary, because it is so downright interesting, stimulating and has such great ideas, you will have to digest each precious page, internalize and put them into practice, like the handbook it is. This book encompasses everything, from the kitchen sink straight to Heaven. In Train Your Brain she quotes the Bubby who was asked which modern convenience she considered indispensible. The kitchen faucet... she replied. How does she take it from there? Her first 'appliance' is tefilla; the second is your brain, with very practical advice on directing your thoughts, improving your memory. And I add - by keeping this invaluable handbook at hand for a daily spiritual 'fix', you will learn how to fix whatever needs fixing in your life as a Jewish woman, wife, mother. -- Rebbetzin Sheindel Weinbach-Noted Author
