Ciara Lynch grew up in the mystical countryside of Ireland where at a young age she discovered her love for writing poetry, composing short stories and reading novels. As she grew - if she were not indulging in reading or writing, you could be sure to find her exploring the outdoors with her canine companion or trekking country lanes on horse-back. Throughout her youth she moved house many times and found stability in the beauty of both nature and words, believing that no matter where you live you can always go for a wander outside, read a story or write something. At the tender age of seventeen Ciara gave birth to her son, Jason. She believes that motherhood has not only helped to mould her into the woman she is today but has been and will always remain her greatest achievement and most rewarding life-lesson. Earlier this year (2024) miss Lynch welcomed her second son, Jonny. When asked what her motivation in life is, she will always respond with 'my sons of course'.In 2018 Ciara lost a friend to mental health and has bore witness to the lasting effects mental health issues have on individuals, families and loved ones. She states that ""Life can be overwhelming for all of us at times and having the right support services such as Aisling centre available is absolutely crucial."" Ciara hopes that the poems and illustrations in this book ""Hands of Time"" will be enjoyed by all whose hands it happens upon. Trevor Verner is an artist and therapy art tutor who lives with his wife and family in Ballinamallard, Co Fermanagh.Trevor has been a professional artist for thirty-five years, his medium is pencil.He has had nineteen exhibitions - some solo and some with other artists.Trevor believes there is a strong connection between poetry and art and was inspired to illustrate this collection of poems after his own journey through mental illness and recovery. He uses these poems to journey back to his childhood as well as to talk about modern struggles. Trevor says 'I hope that people will be able to enjoy these poems and find something that they can relate to their own experiences.
