Essa or F. A. Essa), PhD, is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering in Faculty of Engineering, Kafrelsheikh University, Kafrelsheikh, Egypt. He was born on May 15, 1988, at Kafrelsheikh, Egypt. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Kafrelsheikh University in 2010. Then, he received his master's degree on June 2nd, 2014, from Tanta University, Egypt. In 2013, he finished postgraduate studies on sustainability management and renewable energy sources at People’s Friendship University of Russia, Moscow, Russia. Moreover, he got his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan, China on June 20th, 2018. Dr. Essa lectures on mechanical engineering subjects such as fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, thermal power plants, renewable energy sources, turbo-machinery, and desalination systems. His current research interests are water desalination, solar energy applications, sustainable energy development, and material and nanoparticles’ characterization. Dr. Essa has published more than 170 scientific papers in peer reviewed refereed journals, book chapters, conference proceedings, and manuals, as well as serving as Reviewer, Guest Editor, Associate Editor, and Editor of many international journals. He has supervised master and PhD students in the area of Energy and Environment. To his credit, he has published more than 200 research papers with an h-index of 61. He has published more than 10 books chapters for various editing books. Also, Dr. Essa has won numerous scientific awards such as the State Encouragement Award (2020) in Engineering Science, Egypt, Chinese Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship Award from Chinese Scholarship Council, and others.
