The author or editor of over 160 journal articles and book chapters, and three books, including the Handbook of Plant Growth (Marcel Dekker, Inc.), he is section editor of Plant and Soil, the Journal of Plant Nutrition, and the Journal of Crop Production. A member of the International Plant Nutrition Council and the Western Australia Advisory Committee for Management of Soil Acidity, among other organizations, he received the B.Sc. degree (1980) in biology and the M.Sc. degree (1984) in cell biology from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, and the Ph.D. degree in agronomy/botany from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge.
