OverviewThis volume combines updated material from Volumes 1 and 2 of the first edition of ""The Handbook Of Microwave And Optical Components"", originally published in four volumes. It also includes several new chapters such as Heterojunction Bipolar Transistors, RF Components, Frequency Synthesizers, and Microwave MEMS and Micromachining. Since the first, four-volume edition of the Handbook was published in 1989 and 1990, there has been a rapid development in the microwave and optical areas. RF and microwave wireless personal communications has become one of the hottest growth areas. Optical devices have been used in a wide variety of applications from compact disk players to communications systems.
