Handbook of Pediatric Cardiology

Overview

Pediatric cardiology explores congenital and acquired heart conditions in children, where anatomy, growth, and physiology interact uniquely. This handbook summarizes the recognition, investigation, and management of common pediatric cardiac disorders in concise, accessible entries. Chapters cover examination cues, diagnostic imaging (including echo principles), catheterization basics, and perioperative care for congenital lesions. Practical guidance on pharmacologic management, long-term follow-up, and family counselling supports multidisciplinary care. Algorithms and bedside tips help clinicians triage and stabilize infants and children with cardiac symptoms. Aimed at pediatricians, trainees, and allied health professionals, it's a quick, reliable clinical reference.
