Nanomaterials are the materials of which the size of a single unit is between 1 to 1000 nm. Research in nanomaterials uses material science as the basis to approach nanotechnology. Materials which have configurations at nanoscale often have unique electronic, optical or mechanical properties. On the basis of the sources, nanomaterials are classified into three types- engineered, incidental and natural.
