Her recent publications include a co-edited volume on the history and legacies of Dutch colonial slavery history, Staat en slavernij: het Nederlandse koloniale slavernijverleden en zijn doorwerkingen (State and slavery: Dutch colonial slavery history and its repercussions) (Athenaeum Publishers, 2023). Sruti Bala is associate professor in theater and performance studies at the University of Amsterdam. Her publications include 'The Gestures of Participatory Art' (2018) and the co-edited volume, The Global Trajectories of Queerness: Re-thinking Same-Sex Politics in the Global South, (Brill/Rodopi, 2015).
