.,. would be perfect for the resident on the gastroenterology consult service. An outstanding feature of this text is the pearls section presented in bullet format at the end of every chapter. Not only are these clinically relevant, but would well serve the eager gastroenterology student trying to make a good impression on the attending physician. In terms of a book to keep handy at bedside rounds or in the clinic, I would opt for the Handbook of Digestive Diseases for its concise and clinically focused approach. -- Kuldeep Tagore, Practical Gasteroenterology
