(American Reference Books Annual, March 2009) Author InformationKuiling Ding received his B.S. degree from Zhengzhou University (1985) and a Ph.D. degree from Nanjing University (1990). He was a faculty member of Zhengzhou University from 1990 to 1998. He engaged in a postdoctoral research at Ryukoku University during 1993-1994. He spent another year at TIT as a UNESCO research fellow before joined the faculty of Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry in 1999, where currently he is a professor of organic chemistry. Professor Ding has authored over 100 scientific publications and twelve patents. He has been a member of the International Advisory Board of Eur. J. Org. Chem since 2006. Yasuhiro Uozumi received his B.Sc. (1984), M.Sc. (1986) and Ph.D. (1990) degrees from Hokkaido University. After working at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hokkaido University (1989-1990), he joined the Catalysis Research Center as an assistant professor (1990-1994). He then served as a research associate at Columbia University, after which he moved to Kyoto University (1995) as a lecture of the Department of Chemistry. He became a full professor at Nagoya City University in 1997. In 2000, he moved to the Institute for Molecular Science (IMS). He is an editor of various journals.
