He has been a Consultant since October 1998 having trained in Hand Fellowships in Sydney and Oxford. He provides a Tertiary Referral service for Wessex, States of Jersey, Isle of Wight and British Army (Training and Recruitment) and looks after upper limb problems for Southampton Football Club and Hampshire County Cricket Club. He is Chairman of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand Education and Training Committee, and is a member of the Editorial Board of both the Journal of Hand Surgery (European) and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He is a member of the BSSH Instructional Course Committee and Research Committee and is an Examiner for the British Hand Diploma. He has co-written Apley's System of Orthopaedics, and has written several papers, chapters and lectures both in the UK and abroad on hand and wrist surgery topics. Roderick Dunn is a Consultant in Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery at the Wessex Regional Plastic Surgery Unit at Odstock Hospital in Salisbury.He trained in Plastic Surgery, Hand Surgery and Microsurgery in Plymouth and Glasgow, with specialist fellowships in Hand and Microsurgery in India and Leeds. His special interest are Children's Hand Surgery, complex microsurgical upper limb reconstruction and peripheral nerve surgery. He has written several book chapters and papers, is a regular reviewer for JPRAS, JHS(Br and European) and JBJS. Erman Melikyan is an Associate Specialist Hand Surgeon at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust. Following his training he worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the same time acting as a research associate at the department of Public Health and Epidemiology at Istanbul University until 1998. He obtained the European Diploma in Hand Surgery in 2000. He published the first randomised double-blinded study into extracorporeal shock wave treatment (ESWT) for tennis elbow worldwide. He studied Orthopaedic Engineering at the University of Cardiff and obtained the postgraduate diploma. Erman Melikyan is a member of the AO-UK faculty, the board of question writers at the Royal College of Surgeons and board of reviewers of JBJS. He is also a member of the BSSH. He has written chapters in hand surgery books and published several papers in peer-reviewed journals. Jane Vadher is a Clinical Specialist and Hand Therapist at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust. She is a qualified Occupational Therapist and has a Diploma in Hand Therapy. She has worked in Southampton since 1998 with previous experience in burns, plastics and orthopaedics in Cambridge, Sydney and Northwood, Middlesex.
