Reviews

There are still very few good books on hand reflexology as a treatment in its own right. Nicola Hall's book fills this gap admirably and is a must have. -- Mariette Lobo, Body in Balance Training at mariettelobo.com Nicola Hall has produced a concise practical guide to hand reflexology. This text provides an invaluable resource for practitioners, which offers a synopsis of the history and practice of reflexology and provides an overview of the necessary background conditions often encountered. It includes clear pictorial demonstration of hand positioning and application and embraces and synthesises new techniques offered by Lynne Booth, utilising Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT). -- Sally Price BSc (Hons) MSc MBRA, Senior Lecturer in Health & Wellbeing, University of Wolverhampton As a highly respected practitioner and advocate for complementary medicine, Nicola Hall is one of the most influential experts in the world of reflexology. Having benefited from her gentle but effective treatment of a long-standing sports injury, I can thoroughly recommend her deep knowledge and passion for her subject. These emerge in her vividly-written, thought-provoking book, which makes clear how hand reflexology, though less widely used than treatments of the feet, has a highly effective role to play in treating and alleviating a variety of conditions. Although aimed at the practitioner, the book is full of insights that will fascinate the general reader and help to strip away some of the myths and misapprehensions surrounding this ancient and accessible therapy. -- Sally Jones, Journalist and Broadcaster

It is well written and easy to read and explains the practice of giving a hand reflexology treatment, underpinned with detailed information about the anatomy of the hand and its relation to the treatment. The photographed sections showing the order of treatment, hand holds and techniques were very helpful and will allow readers to see exactly what they need to do to perform a treatment. -- Janice Figgest, MFHT International Therapist
