Very intriguing storyline and original. The verses flow easily and have variety, no boring sing-song. Colorful illustrations bring out the characters and add to the characters and plot. I think this is a book that should be enjoyed together, parents and children. There's room for interpretation of events and characters. It leads to intriguing questions such as: Do you think Lorraine saw real monsters? Or were they other trick-or-treaters? Or maybe they were just in her imagination after seeing all other kids in costumes? What would you do if a monster asked you to share? What if kids who didn't get much candy asked you to share? Darling Halloween story with bright colorful characters and a lesson about sharing. The goblins are just the right amount of spooky (without being too scary.) The illustrations are vibrant and playful and leave the reader all too willing to skip down the candy trail with Lorraine.
