Hallie's New Home

Overview

This is a keepsake book for children whose lives often take them to new places. The author hopes this book can be used to help children reflect on their own experiences and look forward to new chapters in their lives by using the dedicated memory pages. This story is about a little fox named Hallie who is moving to a new home. Hallie is feeling quite glum about her new move and needs her favorite bear Cali to help her. But Cali gets lost. Can new friends, kind words and friendly faces help Hallie adjust to new places without her bear? Will Hallie and Cali be reunited? Once Hallie's story has been told, children can write their own story, draw their own pictures and reflect on their latest home and look forward to their next chapter by using the dedicated memory pages.

Author Information

Sadie has a BSc (Hons) specializing in Anesthesiology. She is married to a member of the Royal Air Force. In 2017, Sadie put her career on hold and moved overseas to Europe with her family of three. There they welcomed their second child and three became four. In 2020, Sadie and her family moved to the Mediterranean where Sadie began working in the local military school, teaching three- to five-year-old children. When Sadie and her family moved to their third international posting in 2024, the strain of another military move on her family inspired her to write Hallie's New Home. Jessica is a children's book illustrator who has always had a strong creative drive. After becoming a parent and relocating with the military, she rediscovered illustration and painting as a meaningful creative outlet that supports mental wellbeing. Inspired by nature, her work focuses on using expressive line work to bring characters and stories to life, creating illustrations that feel playful, gentle, and full of heart. This project marks her debut as a children's book illustrator, created in support of a close friend's literary journey. She enjoys visual storytelling that captures emotion, movement, and warmth for young readers.
