OverviewABOUT THE BOOK ""Halfway Between Success and Madness"" by R.A. MacLeod-Argue provides an intimate look into the author's military experiences, including his tour of Iran. He shares what he witnessed and experienced on the front lines as a peacekeeper. Upon arriving in Iran for his UN tour, RA discovered that all Peacekeepers were unable to defend themselves. Additionally, an Iranian force threatened to overrun the UN base, escalating the ongoing conflict. Fortunately, this threat never materialized. Nevertheless, decades later, long after RA had hung up his military uniform in August of 1995, he learned through classified reports released by human rights groups in 2017 that tens of thousands of political dissidents were rounded up and executed up until September 1988 throughout Iran. Further reports suggest that these ""kangaroo courts"" and executions may have continued for over five months. The book also features tribute poems for our medical profession, firefighters, and police officers. ABOUT THE AUTHOR As a veteran, he has worn many hats, including those of a poet, storyteller, and former talk show host. His did about nine years of military service not only shaped his character but also provided him with unique experiences that have profoundly influenced his creative work. Through his storytelling and poetry, he draws inspiration from his time in service, sharing powerful narratives that resonate with his audience and offer valuable insights.
