Overview

Research affirms that early math skills are predictors of academic success just as much as early reading skills. Math helps children to develop in the areas of critical thinking and problem-solving. This book covers key elements of math, such as number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, subitizing, ordering, sorting, comparing and patterning. The color-coded tabs promote visual, tactile, auditory and kinesthetic learning experiences. The Habari Books Series has been created to offer valuable information that prepares early learners for rich, rewarding educational experiences. The content is developmentally appropriate and academically challenging. Habari Books encourage parent/child, caretaker/child and teacher/child collaboration. Our goal is to offer practical techniques that help children learn and develop an early love for learning.

Reviews

Habari's Book of Numbers is educationally awesome! It allows children to actively engage in numerous mathematical concepts simultaneously. The illustrations are relatable and great for both boys and girls. The Let's Get More! sections present great ideas on how to provide real-life connections for young children. This book will plant the seeds for young children's academic success in math. - Nisha G., 5th Grade Teacher This book is great for beginning learners and those who teach them. The suggestions in the book not only teach and reinforce counting, but they also help the children learn to associate numbers of objects with the counting numbers they are learning. The bright colors help stimulate their minds, and the pictures allow them to associate what they are learning in the book with real-life examples. This foundational number sense will give children the foundation needed for continued learning. I would definitely recommend Habari's Book of Numbers! - Carol H., High School Math Teacher Habari's Book of Numbers is a great resource for growing learners. Understanding numbers is a foundational skill needed for young mathematicians. The authors provide explicit real-world context for each number, which strengthens young learners' connections to each digit. As a visual learner myself, I am also inspired by the abundance of hands-on activities parents can perform with just a few basic materials. Habari's Book of Numbers can be used at the beginning, intermediate or advanced level as there are different activities to suit all learners. - Jeremy M.S., 5th Grade Teacher
