OverviewIn 1969 a young lawyer returned to his roots in the Mississippi Delta as an investigator for the local District Attorney. He is immediately handed a murder case dealing with the separate murders of two young girls in the same rural community. He has little evidence to go on, but dives into the case with determination. In the meantime, the sheriff and the local Citizens Council, an offshoot of the Klan are convinced the murderer is a young black former high school football star, Tyrone Braid, recently paroled from the state penitentiary and living within a few miles of both victims. With only that evidence to go on, Paul is unconvinced. He then uncovers a plot by the Citizen's council to have Tyrone killed and not wait for a trial. Can Paul stop vigilante justice on Tyrone while bringing the real murderer to trial himself? What if Tyrone is indeed guilty? It didn't take much to be guilty in Mississippi in 1969. Since Tyrone was black, he was halfway there.
