OverviewArchitect, designer, interior decorator, painter, Ulrich is unquestionably one of the most fascinating figures in the history of modern Italian furniture. A believer in the strong need for the modernisation of taste and the home, he showed great passion for materials and their most unusual combinations, as well as a unique interest in artisanal production. Ulrich, who was born in Milan, was the perfect example of what the world of production was really like, of the ability of Lombard craftsmanship to adapt to the technological innovations of the time. Close to Northern Italy's upper bourgeoisie, between the 1920's 1970's Ulrich was responsible for a number of interior decorating projects for the most important families in what was then a nascent Italian industry. His work in the field of lighting, household and gift items, fabrics, jewellery and furniture decoration constitute a point of reference in the history of Italian taste and culture that cannot be overlooked.
